About Us
At Nazareth Home, medically at-risk children not only receive specialized care to help them manage and overcome their physical challenges, but also the unconditional love, spiritual nurturing and support that every child needs and deserves. Each child experiences a stable and loving environment in which to grow and thrive. The children are cared for in a home setting, not an institution, and become part of a family when they come to Nazareth Home.
As a licensed foster home for the State of Indiana, Nazareth Home’s dedicated staff works in cooperation with the Lake County Department of Children and Family Services to provide the foster children with outstanding care, individual attention and emotional support. Nazareth Home is a ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and administered by Ancilla Systems, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.
Nazareth Home is also strengthened by a broad network of dedicated volunteers, who provide the infants and children with unconditional love and care by donating hundreds of hours of cuddling, play and home care services every year. Other volunteers are willing to donate their time and talents and serve as a link to the community to help coordinate a variety of supportive services, including fundraising, grant writing and public relations services.

Though Nazareth Home has many friends and supporters, the costs to provide care are substantial. Donations of money, time, goods and services are always needed and greatly appreciated.
